By airplane

Lodz is located about 140 km south-west of Warsaw Frederic Chopin airport (https://www.lotnisko-chopina.pl/en/index.html), which is the biggest airport in Poland and has can be reached by more than 25 airlines from Europe and Overseas.

ThIn close proximity to the terminal, there is an underground Warsaw Chopin Airport railway station, from which the Warsaw airport trains to Warszawa Centralna (in English: Warsaw Central station), depart (for timetable and ticket orders of airport trains see https://bilety.mazowieckie.com.pl/start ). From Warsaw Central station you can catch the connection to Lodz Fabryczna (for timetable and ticket orders see https://bilet.intercity.pl/zakup_biletu.jsp?lang=EN).

Although one could change to the Intercity train directly to Lodz Fabryczna already at Warszawa Zachodnia (in English: Warsaw West), it is more convenient to change at Warsaw Central station, because the Warszawa Zachodnia station is currently undergoing an extensive modernization, which most probably will still be going on in November 2024. Alternatively, there is a possibility to travel straight from the Airport to Lodz Fabryczna by bus: https://www.flixbus.pl/. The connections are less frequent but if one of them fit with the arrival/departure time, it can be the most convenient option. The bus stop is located next to the terminal (https://maps.app.goo.gl/brGcmCv6ZdmkRBJXA). Warszawa, Port Lotniczy Warszawa → Łódź, WPA Łódź Fabryczna ~1h 45 min, 9 - 19 EUR https://www.rome2rio.com/de/map/Flughafen-Warsaw-Chopin- WAW/%C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA#trips/transport/Flughafen-Warsaw-Chopin-WAW/%C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA/r/Bus/s/0 Direct transfer from Warsaw Frederic Chopin airport to Lodz by taxi shuttle:
VIPTRANS, ~100 EUR, for up to three passengers (https://www.viptrans24.pl/en/airport-transfer/) from Warsaw Chopin airport to Lodz, duration: 80 min, or https://400.pl/ option of the airport transfer between Łódź and Warsaw, the cost is 450 zł (app. 100 EUR). Although Lodz is developing its own Lodz Airport Central Poland, which is served by Ryanair and connected by bus and taxi to the city center (about 30 minutes to Lodz Fabryczna station), it is more convenient to plan air travel through an international airport. Other international airports are Katowice International Airport, John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice, and Copernicus Airport Wrocław. From these airports Lodz Widzew and Lodz Fabryczna can be reached by train (for timetable and ticket orders see https://rozklad-pkp.pl/).

By Train

As mentioned before, travelling from Wrsaw Frederic Chopin airport by public transport is best done by first taking the Warsaw airport train to Warsaw Central Station and to change there to the Intercity train directly to Lodz Fabryczna (for timetable and ticket orders see https://bilet.intercity.pl/zakup_biletu.jsp?lang=EN). In the case that your arrival time does not fit with departure time of the direct intercity trains to the Lodz Fabryczna station, one can also take an intercity train from Warsaw Central Station to the Lodz Widzew, which is the station connected not only to Warsaw but also to  the Katowice, Kraków and Wrocław central stations. From Lodz Widzew you can either take a taxi directly to the hotel (it will be more expensive due to the longer distance but is a much simpler option) or you take a short train ride to Lodz Fabryczna (there are many trains between Lodz Widzew and  Lodz Fabryczna (6-8 minutes), for time table and ticket orders see https://koleo.pl/rozklad-pkp/lodz-widzew/lodz-fabryczna/22-06-2024_21:00/all/all) At the terminal station Lodz Fabryczna station it is convenient to take a taxi to the Hampton Hotel (Hampton by Hilton Lodz City Center, Piotrkowska  157, 90-543 Łódź, Poland, see https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/lcjcchx-hampton-lodz-city-center/hotel-info/) and there are always taxis waiting at the station, but you can also book your ride with Uber https://www.uber.com/global/pl/r/cities/lodz-lodzkie-pl/ or Bolt https://bolt.eu/en-mx/cities/lodz/.
